After Juilliard, he performed in nightclubs where he was discovered for the role of Mork on an episode of Happy Days in 1974. The subsequent spin-off "Mork & Mindy" followed in 1978 and Hollywood has never been the same. Following in the footsteps of his mentor, Jonathan Winters, Williams worked as both a dramatic and comedic actor as well as stand-up comic.
Williams was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor three times and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Good Will Hunting. He received two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and five Grammy Awards.
